If it were music, it would be an “encore of golden hits.”

Yes, it was an encore for Signature Grille Restaurant in Detroit to host for the second time around hosting  PCCM’s monthly networking event.

Like the one held in April 2010, the networking event held on July 21 at Signature Grille was again very lively and enjoyable. This was brought in part by the place’s delectable appetizers and friendly personnel. And the festive ambiance was enhanced by a great view of the Detroit River and the summer-evening lights. The event was also very productive, businesswise.

Aside from the usual networking activities such as business matching, forging new deals and getting referrals, the 63 PCCM members present and their guests were given an update on land-property developments in the Philippines. Danilo L. Madlansacay, business development consultant of Megaworld International, a big Philippines-based realty company, talked about the latest development s in the Philippine business landscape. He is on a US tour to promote the various condominium and time-share projects of Megaworld.

Adding glitter to the affair were the five young ladies vying for the Miss Philippines-Michigan 2010 title. The five beauties were introduced to the crowd and were asked to say a few words. (The Miss Philippines-Michigan Pageant Night, a fund-raising project of FILAMCCO, will be held on August 14, 2010 at the America Polish Cultural Center in Troy.)

Great door prizes were raffled off. These included two-night stay in a five-star hotel in the Philippines, courtesy of Megaworld International. The other valuable  prizes given away were $100 “balikbayan” box certificate donated by Aerosend Michigan; $50 gift certificate donated by Flowers and Gifts Galore (Cora Gatchalian); free one-month (two issues) advertisement in the Filipino Star News; and four gift certificates and bottles of wine donated by Signature Grille. Also raffled off was a free one-year PCCM individual membership fee.

The PCCM leadership thanked Signature Grille, especially the Sugayan family and Lisa Romano, for allowing the PCCM to hold the networking affair for the second time. The members though missed the company of Signature Grille owners Chuckie and Doctor Sugayan who were out of town. (Members who may want to visit soon Signature Grille may check out the place’s daily events and specials @ www.signaturedetroit.com).

During the affair, the PCCM members and non-members were interacting with other business people, other Filipino organizations and professionals.

As a reminder, PCCM's next networking event to be sponsored by T.A.G. Solutions Inc.  will be held at Conventry Place in  Troy on August 18, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Because it’s summer, the attire will be casual. (T-shirts and “tsinelas” will do). For more details, please contact Randy Gungab at 248.259.7102 or Beth Tibudan at 248.802.2998 or visit www.pccmichigan.org.
